One of the perspective digital technologies developed in telemedicine — a remote videomonitoring is described. The merits and demerits of the analogous videocamera and digital videoconferencecommunication system use are analyzed.
The different variants of a videomonitoring use are regarded: it provides a remote control by the leading specialists with a possibility of operative remote consulting aid to a surgical team in difficult situations at different stages of preparation and conduction of operations and diagnostic investigations; a videomonitoring of patients in the intensive therapy rooms permits to decrease a load to the medical staff and increase the patient safety.
A description of the STEL TDVMS telemedical videomonitoring elaborated system is presented.
