The aim of investigation is to reveal the most frequent rhythm disturbances in patients with a terminal renal insufficiency and determine their role in prognosis in this group of patients.
Materials and Methods. 145 patients with a terminal chronic renal insufficiency who underwent a program hemodialysis were examined; Holter monitoring was performed in 50 of them. A control group consisted of 15 patients in a predialysis period. Diagnostic techniques: a clinicoanamnestic method, laboratory and instrumental studies.
Results. Unfavorable rhythm disturbances (including life-threatening ones) are more common in patients with a terminal renal insufficiency who underwent a program hemodialysis compared to patients in a predialysis period. This allows referring them to a group of patients with high risk of a sudden arrhythmic death.
