Surgical Sepsis: a Current State of the Problem
An up-to-date sepsis classification is presented, a clinical presentation is systematized, and the problems of laboratory diagnostics are considered in detail. The treatment concepts are given. Pathological changes occurring in sepsis in various organs and systems are analyzed. There is shown a diagnostic algorithm acceptable both in the presence and in the absence of laboratory verification of a disease. A starting antibacterial therapy is recommended as empirical depending on the localization of a primary infection focus, the character of wound process and systemic infection manifestations.
