The Results of Surgical Treatment of Proximal Gastric Cancer
56 patients with proximal gastric cancer who underwent radical surgery have been included into the investigation. Extended operations in this group of patients are found to be accompanied by the postoperative complication rate increase (35.71%). A postoperative lethality is 8.93%. However, one- and three-year disease-free periods rate as well as three-year overall survival rate (89.28; 46.43 and 53.57%, respectively) give evidence of the expediency of aggressive surgical treatment in proximal gastric cancer.
